Hamburg: This amazing youth film was the birth of very successful media careers. It was the very first film with rock band
Nektar, shortly after their founding in Hamburg, Germany in 1970. It was created at a time when music videos were uncommon
and MTV as yet unfounded. The audio was recorded in the cellar practice rooms of a German youth club with the plastic crystal
microphone of a Philips cassette recorder. The visuals were filmed with borrowed 16mm windup cameras from Haus der Jugend
Stintfang in Hamburg. At the time, Nektar dreamed of becoming rock stars and young American filmmaker Jay Tuck dreamed of
becoming a television producer. Both dreams came true.
